Above & Beyond Event Design & Decor was founded in March 2007 by Kim Foster, Chief Creative Director. We provide exceptional decorating designs and services in the Huron and Perth counties and beyond, including Stratford, St. Marys, Woodstock, Kitchener, Waterloo, Mitchell, Seaforth, Clinton, Grand Bend, etc.
We offer and deliver “peace of mind” to each & every one of our clients. Our personal service and attention to detail help make your special event memorable and stress free. From the pre-planning stages we work with you to ensure that you have the wedding or event of your dreams. We are committed to offering you value, quality, reliability and artful designs to compliment your style.

Health & Safety

Above & Beyond is committed to a safe and healthy working environment for all of our employees. Through training programs, policies and procedures we have enhanced the safety culture within our company. Our team of valuable workers demonstrates this culture in the shop and on-site by producing great quality of work safely. We complete annual training sessions to refresh all employees on the health and safety aspects of the job, and this commitment has helped us maintain an excellent safety record. Our employees are also all fully insured by WSIB.

Kim Foster
Owner & Chief Creative Director

Kim is the owner and Chief Creative Director, and she cannot wait to meet you! If you are planning a significant celebration in your life, big or small, she can help you translate your vision into a spectacular experience for you and your guests.

In her own words:

“I pride myself on creating unique, never-seen before designs, and I pay great attention to every detail to ensure a fabulous end-result. My goal is to take events to the next level, and I love to exceed the expectation of my clients. I always enjoy going Above & Beyond!

My Calling

“I knew I had found my calling as soon as I met with my first clients. As we were discussing the event details, I could feel a weight being lifted from their shoulders. They started getting very excited, and said they never imagined it would become their favourite part of the planning process. I get very excited when the design process begins, and it becomes infectious. I just love what I do, and I want to share it with you!”


“One of the joys of my job is that I get to see the event through from the beginning to the end. Entering a venue at the beginning of the setup is always like starting with a blank canvas. I love being a part of the transformation – creating something incredible and having everyone enjoy it! Every decorate is unique, and no two events ever look the same, even if they are in the same venue. It is so exciting to see all the planning and ideas come to life and being able to create such an incredible atmosphere. I would be honoured to work with you to bring your vision to life!”


“I regularly attend conferences, workshops, classes, and trade shows in order to learn the latest trends of the event design market. I then take these trends and create innovative and awe-inspiring designs. My passion lies in the event design and decor field, but I also understand and appreciate the importance of building strong alliances with other reputable, integrity-driven vendors. I work closely with such vendors to ensure all the needs of my clients are met.”

Jan Parkinson
Bookkeeping & Administration

Jan joined Above & Beyond in April 2015 as bookkeeper and administrator. She has an Accounting Certificate from Fanshawe College and over 20 years of experience in a variety of office environments with a range of different products. This is her first position in the design business and she is eager to learn the different aspects of producing a quality event.

Sandra Jordan
Scheduling & Administration

Sandra has been with Above & Beyond since 2009. She started out helping with the decorates; a great way to make some extra money to pay for her 2010 wedding – decorated by Above & Beyond of course! Once she became a mother, she started working from home, doing staff scheduling and other administrative duties for Above & Beyond. Sandra has a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and her background is in event and hospitality management. She enjoys the interaction with venues, brides, and staff, and is very passionate about ensuring each and every decorate is perfect!

Dawn Simons
Social Media

Dawn has been working for Above & Beyond since the spring of 2011. She is in her fourth year in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. Dawn manages all of Above & Beyond’s social media accounts, and enjoys returning to Stratford when she can to help decorate events! She is very passionate about the event industry and hopes to be an event co-ordinator when she graduates.

The Design Team

The design team consists of approximately 15-20 team members. They love what they do – they are always excited to be a part of the transformation and take great pride in their work! The team is committed to delivering excellence, and is very solution-oriented and professional. They are all extremely passionate about working closely with you to conceptualize your event & translate it into an experience your guests will always remember.
